Tennis Program:

On-Court

  • Theme based drill sessions, featuring a maximum of 1:4 athlete to coach ratio.
  • Themed based match play sessions.
  • On court technical and tactical analysis of each athlete
  • On court themes based around core fundamental components of the game.
  • Fast track athletes based on individual needs.
  • All core coaches hold either an Advanced or elite coaching qualification from tennis Australia.

Psychology

  • Psychology is a major factor of the program, through regular on court and off court mentoring.
  • Anthony Klarica, is a consultant to the program offering mental toughness sessions based around real game situations.
  • Anthony Klarica, can also provided support to athletes by providing external psychology sessions.

Sports Nutrition:

  • Nutritional advice given to athletes through off court sports nutritional sessions.

Physiotherapy screening

  • Physio screening provided to all athletes twice a year.
  • Initial physiotherapy screening is required to ensure your needs are addressed and due care is taken to exercise to your level, and to best exercise specifically for your needs.
  • Physio screening is an essential part of the program to help provide a tailored program based on individual needs. 
 

Injury management program:

  • MY Tennis School has a link with the bounce health group, a physiotherapy consultant is in attendance at the school weekly to provide injury analysis and help with athletes injury management plans, should one be necessary.   

 Physical Testing:

  • MY Tennis School has a strong relationship with Deakin University. Twice a year Deakin conduct a range of physical tests to all students of the school. The results of the tests are compiled and then used in conjunction with the strength and conditioning program. A copy of their results are given to the students. They can chart their progress over the course of their time at the school.

Mentoring Program:

  • The mentoring program is a crucial component of the tennis program, each athlete is assigned a mentor coach, each coach is responsible for his or her athletes overall welfare.   

Biomechanical Analysis:

  • We have recently introduced "Dartfish" into the program. Dartfish is a video analysis program which will be used by both Staff and Students to analyse technique. 

Report Writing:

  • Report writing is a major component of the MYTS program, based on the tennis Australia matrix system, each athlete is given reports on their performance at weeks 4 and 8 of the school term.

Additional features:

Wet Weather Sessions

  • Staff deliver a theoretical program that incorporates a range of styles that focus on game situations and simulations.

Tournament Scheduling

  • All athletes in the program are given advice on tournaments throughout the year. Quarterly reviews are undertaken.

Tournament

  • The Tennis Director, Head Coach and Core coaches attend tournaments during and outside school hours. The staff actively support our students by providing a range of assistance including pre and post match analysis and potential opponent game plan advice.

Re-Stringing

  • MYTS has two state of the art tennis racquet restringing machines, all athletes are taught to re-string tennis racquets as part of the program. Most of the athletes are proficient at re-stringing their own racquets by the time they reach year 9.
