Noel Phillips, Head Coach:

  • 1985 - 2008 Noel Phillips Tennis Academy, North Ringwood Tennis Club

  • U.S. Collegiate Head Coach
  • Noel studied Business Administration in the US, before returning to Australia to play an active role in the development of young tennis athletes.   

Playing Career:

  • 6 years ATP tour 1975 - 1980
  • Highest ATP ranking: Singles 140
  • 4 years intercollegiate circuit USA 1971 - 1974

Goal:

If you can step back and reflect on your performance/achievement (whether sporting, academic or life in general) and can sincerely say and "That's the best I can do", then YOU are truly the winner.   

Karen Butler, Core Coach:

  • Currently completing Tennis Australia 'High Performance Coaching Course

  • 10 years coaching experience

  • Played ITF / WTA Tour 1999-2001
  • State Grade Pennant Player.

Goal:

To guide, support & improve athletes during their time at MYTS. To encourage all athletes to take accountability for their tournament preparation, training and management of all aspects on and off the court.   

Robert Phillips, Core Coach:

Coaching Experience and qualifications:

  • Sanchez-Casal Academy, Barcelona, Spain
  • Conducting elite training squads and private lessons for 7 years at North Ringwood TC and Boroondara TC.
  • Worked with tennis Australia’s talent ID program
  • MYTS Core coach for past 4 years.
  • TCA accredited development coach & ATPCA Advanced Coach.
  • Worked with many high ranking juniors.   

Playing Career:

  • ATP world ranking singles and doubles, 5 years on the futures tour.
  • Won 2 state grade premierships.
  • Top 10 in Victoria as a junior tennis player
  • Played on the Uncle Toby's satellite/futures tour
  • Currently playing state grade for North Ringwood   

Goal:

Trevor Little, Core Coach:

  • Coached Belgium Development Squad
  • Coached Australian juniors to singles and doubles success
  • Life member of the sporting goods association.  

 Playing Career:

  • 7 years on the international circuit
  • 1975 Malaysian Open Singles Champion
  • Victorian Junior Singles Champion
  • Australian Open Hard court Doubles Champion
  • Defeated Peter McNamara in the 1976 Australian Open
  • 2nd Ranked Junior in Australia in 1972 / 1973
  • Reached top 20 in Australia in 1974   

Goal:

To encourage the students to develop their game to their best possible standard   

Daniel Barker:

Coaching Experience and Qualifications:

  • 15 years coaching experience
  • 10 Years at Boroondara tennis centre
  • 7 Years Morroolbark tennis centre
  • 2 Years at MYTS Box Hill
  • 8 Years running development squads at Boroondara, feeding juniors through to talent squads and national programs.
  • Running a successful club business for 7 years.
  • Advanced tennis coach, with tennis Australia

Player Career:

  • Grade 1 Pennant Player
  • Competed in the State grade competition
  • One season on the satellite circuit, best result, 3rd round Qualifying.
  • Represented Australia in Juniors.
